August DeTour with the Blue Grass Trust

Be sure to join us and our co-organizers from the Faulkner Morgan Archive this Wednesday for our FREE August deTour of The Bar Complex in downtown Lexington.

The Bar Complex is important to the history of Lexington and central Kentucky as it is the oldest continuous LGBTQ gathering places in Kentucky and among the oldest in the United States.

Because of the Bar Complex's significance to our city and civil rights history, and the excellent work of Bob Morgan and our very own Dr. Jon Coleman, who collaborated together in creating this years BGT’s Clay Lancaster Heritage and Education Award-winning Faulkner Morgan Archive, the bar received two state historic markers in early June in honor of Lexington’s gay history.
